Congregational Discovery

The Congregational Discovery process is designed to apply the tools of transition used by trained Intentional Interim Ministers within congregations that may not have access to this type of specialized ministry professional. This process ensures that all congregations can be fully prepared to meet the challenges their current context presents.

The Discovery Process is facilitated by Rev. Becky David, founding owner of Black Pearl Coaching and Consulting, in collaboration with your congregation’s Pastor and leadership team.

The Discovery Process is divided into three phases with an option for a fourth phase. Each phase typically consists of

  • in-person consultations between Black Pearl Coaching and Consulting, the congregation and its leadership;

  • workbook materials facilitated at the congregation’s own pace under the leadership of a commissioned Discovery Team;

  • Discovery Team support;

  • and development of actionable plans in response to discovered data, trends, and context specific issues.

The process is flexible in its design in order to best respond to the congregation’s context and specific transition needs.
